Good evening fellow 12 Kings members! Well the Holidays are behind us, and hopefully a lot of other things!!! So let's start making 2021 a fun year to remember! First we have an event that our new President, Bill Ward, passed along and it sounds like a lot of fun.
Soooo, let's meet at City Hall in Wimberley at 10:00 January 31st and we will cruise to Murphos together if that suits you. It'll be a gassss!
And then we also have the Goodguys Spring Lone Star Nationals on March 12-14! Let's kick it around and see how many want to run up to the Speedway north of Dallas for the event. There's some long miler types in the 12 Kings and Spring will be here before you know it!
Finally, we have talked about having a poker run, but I haven't been able to get that together yet. Perhaps we can do that in February. And we have said we would have a Ladies' Choice event where the gals get to pick a destination for an upcoming cruise. Let's talk that up!
Remember, let's drive 'um! We are blessed to live in these beautiful hills and cruising them brings out the smiles!
Jonny O,
This sounds like an event for your gasser!
Hi again folks. I wanted to give you some more info on this event and how its shaping up.
Murpho's event will happen this coming Sunday, January 31st. Start time is 12:00 but we'll meet at 10:00 am at the City Hall in Wimberley and leave there at 10:15 or so. This will be a cruise by the 12 Kings to Murpho's which is 1131 FM967 in Buda.
Everyone in the 12 Kings is welcome to join us for the Cruise over there, however Murpho's has asked that only cars built around the 50's and before park in the show area. Others can park in another area. They are having some photographs taken and I think they are going to use them in a magazine or for promotion and that is what they want to project. It'll be neat to see the cars that are there, no matter where you guys want to park. By leaving early we should be able to find a place where the 12 Kings cars can park together. I think Bill Ward has already committed to being in the show.
So everyone can stay as long as they want, we will cruise over together and people can stay or leave on their own schedules.
They are going to have music, food and pinups - oh and cars - so I think there will be plenty of fun for all! Hopefully we can get plenty of members out for a day of relaxation and fresh air!
Is this a proper"cruise" as well as a show?
I checked with Murpho's and they are looking for mid 50's and earlier rods and customs for the show, so not really an event for the whole club. We do have a bunch of those kinds of cars, though, and the rest of us might just go over in our "regular" cars.
Totally in. I see it starts at noon, but we rally at 10:00? Guess we'll be the early birds!
Sounds good to me! Is this just open to rods and customs, or will my 68' Bronco be welcome?
