Hi all 12 Kings members! Its time for our next adventure! Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 15th, as we will be making a mid-week run up to and along the Willow City Loop to see the Spring Wildflowers. As this is a mid-week run, it will be for those of us who are retired, or can play hooky from work for a mental health day! We’ll gather in the morning about 8-9 am and stop for eats during the cruise. There will be another notice sent out with the specifics a few days before the cruise date. This ought to be another fun run! We’re looking forward to it, and seeing you there! Jay

Good evening fellow 12 Kings members! Well the Holidays are behind us, and hopefully a lot of other things!!! So let's start making 2021 a fun year to remember! First we have an event that our new President, Bill Ward, passed along and it sounds like a lot of fun. Soooo, let's meet at City Hall in Wimberley at 10:00 January 31st and we will cruise to Murphos together if that suits you. It'll be a gassss! And then we also have the Goodguys Spring Lone Star Nationals on March 12-14! Let's kick it around and see how many want to run up to the Speedway north of Dallas for the event. There's some long miler types in the 12 Kings and Spring will be here before you know it! Finally, we have talked about having a poker run, but I haven't been able to get that together yet. Perhaps we can do that in February. And we have said we would have a Ladies' Choice event where the gals get to pick a destination for an upcoming cruise. Let's talk that up! Remember, let's drive 'um! We are blessed to live in these beautiful hills and cruising them brings out the smiles!

Hello all, A heads up that our next cruise is tentatively set for Saturday, February 15th. This ought to be another fun one, and we hope that lots of you ladies will be present to enjoy the activities! Planning is underway and this cruise will be to the New Braunfels area, where we will take over the lanes at Fiesta Lanes, eat at TJ's burgers or Freiheit Country Store and then end up at Guadalupe Brewing Company for some beers! We'll begin from our regular meeting place at the Wimberley City Hall and take backroads in to New Braunfels. And we can start this a little later than usual (about 10:30 ) so you can get some more beauty rest before getting underway. It is hard to know what the weather might be like this time of year, so let's plan on this being a rain or shine event (meaning if it is raining you can drive you daily driver.) We'll put up an update when we get the planning completed, but put this one your calendars. I bet we're going to have a great time! Thanks all.

Hi Everyone, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and are getting ready for more fun this month! Speaking of fun, we have a great cruise arranged for this coming Saturday morning, December 7th! I think this is going to be one of our best to date! We have lined up several stops and a great place to eat. We will gather at the Wimberley City Hall parking area, where we have for other runs, at 9:00 am Saturday. We’ll depart there (by 9:15) for our first stop at a shop near Canyon Lake. Its called Twisted Pistons and they do a lot of different things there, so it should be very interesting. We should arrive there about 9:30 and will stay until 10:00 – 10:15. Jeromy Yager will greet us and show us around. From there we will take the scenic River Road from just below Canyon Lake Dam, along the Guadalupe toward New Braunfels. It’s a beautiful drive and we can enjoy the scenery on our way to our next stop. The second stop will be at Cruzer Customs in NB. They have a very good full service shop and do top quality work on show cars, or engine work, or AC installation and much more, so this will be a very interesting stop as well. We should arrive there by 10:30 – 10:45. Bryan Cruz and Jessica will be our hosts. We will shoot at departing from their shop by 11:30 or so and will head out to eat. Our eating location is Cooper Old Time BBQ, just down the street. They have an outstanding selection of different meats and plenty of room for our group. I figure we will be ready for a meal by that time! After lunch we will have an optional stop at A & E Classic Cars in New Braunfels! For all those interested we will make the short run to that shop to see what they have to offer. They sell a lot of muscle cars and have a shop which I understand does work on their inventory and for other’s cars too! Again, this is an optional stop but should be fun! I’m excited about this and look forward to seeing all of you Saturday morning at the City Hall at 9:00 am! The forecast is good so let’s get out there and drive ‘um!! Hi everyone! I wanted to update y'all on plans we're making for the November Cruise. We've talked about doing a shop crawl of businesses in the area that work on cars like ours and this is the month we're aiming to make that happen. We've spoken with three businesses already that are open to having us stop in for a tour and an explanation of what their services include. These are all viable businesses that have a track history of doing good work on hot rods, classics, motorcycles and such. We are checking on other shops in the area, so will have between three minimum and 5 maximum places to visit. Jon is helping with getting things organized and we hope to make the run in mid-November, though we may have to slide it to the first week of December. That will be up to y'all as we want to make the run available to as many of the membership as possible. This will be a Saturday cruise and possible dates are November 9, November 16 or December 2, or December 9. Those scattered dates are because of the holidays which are approaching quickly! Think about those dates and send comments back here or at our Coffee and Cars event this weekend. Looking forward to the feedback and seeing y'all Sunday morning! Thanks, Jay

Hi all 12 Kings members! We discussed several alternatives for coming cruises during our last monthly meeting. I thought the Luckenrod gathering wouldn't be doable but had the date wrong! And so as its September 14th, let's go! This is a good show where if we work it right we can park under some large trees in the shade. Lots of cool cars show up, and there are going to be bands, things to eat and drink (including a cold beer) and a good time to be had by all! Check out the details using the following link: https://luckenrodcom.bigcartel.com/ Now what we need to decide is whether we will go in one group, or two? This is a show and has an entry fee, and a particular time to arrive to guarantee being under the trees. Some of us may not want to pay the $35. entry fee, or to get up that early (leave Wimberley at 8:00 am). If that is the case we can go in two groups. General admission is $15. if you don't want to be in the show. We may still be able to park together and I have contacted the show organizers to see if we can have space blocked off to park as a club. That may allow us to go all together and a little bit later. Please give your comments about this so we can determine how the club members want to proceed. I'm glad we can make this event and am looking forward to it. It ought to be another very good time! Thanks, Jay

Hi everyone, We decided at our last meeting to have our next Club Cruise on July 13th. Doug had suggested we head to Treaty Oak Distillery and Brewery, 16604 Fitzhugh Road in Dripping Springs. We spoke with the folks at Alice's Restaurant there on site and we're set for arriving at their facility at 11:45 on July 13th. They will have a spot roped off for us under the trees and in a grassy area. (Hoooray for some shade!) We’ll stretch our legs and go in to Alice’s Restaurant at 12:00 (when they open) to eat. You can check out their menu, etc. on the website: https://www.treatyoakdistilling.com/ We can have an option for folks to take a tour of the distillery at $10. per person about 1:00. There’s also a Farmers Market there that afternoon, so we should have a variety of things to check out! Let's meet approximately 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church just north of Wimberley at the intersection of FM12 and Winters Mill Parkway. It is a good sized parking lot and we'll head on toward Dripping Springs at 11:15. This ought to be a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing everyone there! Thanks, Jay

Hi everyone! The club decided at its April meeting that the next cruise would be to Jay Stiles' shop in San Marcos and will take place on May 25th. At the recent May club meeting we decided to add a stop at the Brookdale Assisted Living facility on Old Ranch Road 12 in San Marcos. The folks there are excited to have us stop by and let the residents see some of our old cars, and visit with the owners. Given the lunch times for residents we will need to depart from Wimberley at 10:15 so let's meet at 10:00 am at Wimberley City Hall and the DNV vehicle registration area at Stillwater Road, (just outside the Blanco River on RR12 headed toward San Marcos). We'll caravan first to Brookdale, then on to Jay's shop. We'll eat at the shop as Jay and Paula will provide BBQ and some cold beverages. The club decided that it will be a potluck style lunch with members bringing side dishes and desserts to have with the BBQ. We'll have some time to visit and get to know each other a little better! The last stop will be optional, (heck nothing is mandatory!!) and for those that have time and are up for it we will stop by Roughouse Brewery on the way back to Wimberley. Its a nice facility and they have some good beers to sample. Its just off RR12 before you get to Saddle Ridge. Sounds like a great day! Please use this forum to RSVP and to let us know what type of dish you would like to bring with you.

Hi everyone! There's lots going on this last two weeks in April, and through the month of May. Besides our meeting tonight, we have the Art Fest Car Show on April 27th and that should be a lot of fun. And there's an Easter car show in Kerrville at Flatrock Park 10-5, this Saturday April 20th. Dripping Springs has their Coffee with Cars cruise in on April 28, starting at 8 AM. In May there is the Vintage Air Open House on May 4th, our Cars and Coffee in Wimberley on the 5th, along with the Advance Auto Car Show, again in Kerrville. Blanco has their show on May 18th at the River Park, and on Memorial Day May 27th there is the 8th Annual Operation Comfort Car Show to support veterans being held in Helotes. So lots of shows and cruise ins to pick from! We can talk about our May Cruise at tonight's meeting, but here are a couple of options: Cruise out from Wimberley to the Fredricksburg area for stops at a couple of the wineries in the area. There are some fun places where we can do some tastings, or just have a glass of some of Texas' best wines. A second option would be to cruise from Wimberley to San Marcos, and stop by the Stiles' shop for some BarBQue, cold beverages and a look-see of the shop. We can then head back and stop by RoughHouse Brewery for those that would like to stop and have a cold one. They have a great place off of RR12 (before getting back to the Y at RR32). Given all the other activities, the best date would be May 25th. Think about these options and we can discuss at tonight's meeting. Jay

Hi folks! Its time to do a second "cruise to eat run". Lets plan on going next Saturday, March 16th. We will meet at Brookshire Brothers in Wimberley again. This time we will gather there at 10:45 and depart by 11:00 am. Its going to be a pleasant cruise, back down RR12 to RR32, out across the Backbone to FM484 (turning left), and then turning on left again on FM306 toward the dam. We will turn right on Canyon Park Road and proceed to the Marina. There's a restaurant there, and they have a good variety of items to take care of your hunger...and your thirst! Its a pretty place when the sun is out, and let's keep our fingers crossed that the weather will be great! It should be according to the long range forecasts. Bring your friend, your spouse, significant other and the car you enjoy most! We had a lot of fun on our last run, and I bet we will again on this one! Please respond to this email indicating that you can participate. Thanks, Jay

OK Boys and Girls, we going to have our first "Cruise to Eat" run!!! Its time for some good weather, so let's keep our fingers crossed. This is an informal "have fun" event, so bring the vehicle you can and if you don't have time to spit shine it, we will still have fun! Wives are encouraged to attend. This run will leave from Wimberley Brookshire Bothers parking lot on February 16th, and at 11:00 am. (Please try to get to the Brookshire Brothers about 15 minutes early so we can leave on time.) Our cruise will ultimately be to Pecan Street Brewery in Johnson City, via member Doug Chambers shop at 8101 Hwy 290 W., Dripping Springs. The route will be RR 2325 to RR 165, then North up to Hwy 290 and west a short run to Doug's. He's got a very interesting place which he has decorated with his own art and murals. It's about 26 miles to his shop and should take about 30 minutes. After a comfort break and a thorough look at his handiwork we will make our way on to Pecan Street Brewery in Johnson City via Hwy 290 and this segment should take about 15 minutes. The Cafe there has a varied menu of choices at reasonable prices, and of course beers for those that have dry throats. Again this gives us an opportunity to share some time and conversation while seeing some of our beautiful hills and a couple of interesting destinations. Departure from Pecan Street and the route home will be up to the participants though some may want to caravan. (If February 16th has lousy weather we'll scrub the run and try the next Saturday, February 23rd.) The best way to keep up with planning for this run is to choose "follow post" up at the top of this page, so you will automatically receive updates. Feel free to leave comments, questions and especially please indicate if you are planning on participating by responding to this post! Let's get out there and drive 'um!!!

This is a used, complete Gear Vendors O/D unit with all the controls, electronics, etc. All that is needed is an adaptor to your particular transmission, which are available through Gear Vendors, or online. These units are indestructible and really help with driveability for a car with a high (numerically) rear end. Not a cheap item, but a good investment in your vehicle. Available for $1700.
